Intervention and Referral Services
The
primary goal of any school is to successfully educate all students. With
this in mind, some students still struggle with learning. In an effort to
have students succeed, Intervention and Referral Services (“I & RS,”
formerly known as “PAC” meetings) are offered to address these struggles;
this is in compliance with New Jersey Administrative Code 6A: 16-8.
Regardless of
learning, behavioral, or health concerns, the I & RS team will work to have
children’s needs met. Each district school building has an I & RS team and
it is made up of (although not limited to) the following members:
-
an administrator,
-
a general education teacher,
-
one or more support staff, and
-
the teacher requesting the referral
for services.
If you
would like to request help, please print and fill out the
“Parent/Guardian Request Form” and bring it into your child’s
school. Or you can email it to an I & RS team member in your child’s
school.
